When you see this you probably think of Marijuana right? It’s just the first thing that comes to mind when you see the word herb and smoke next to each other let alone in the same sentence.
Well, that is not quite the intention. There are plenty of other herbs you can smoke that aren’t Marijuana that has different effects on the mind and body.
Hippie Joints
These are what I like to call “hippie joints”. I got three that are 100% natural and contain no psychoactive herbs, like marijuana, whatsoever. A child could walk into the same store I got them at and buy these, that’s how safe and natural they are.
One (pictured left) contains Lavender and Blue Lotus. The second (pictured middle) contains Mugwort, Calea, Aminita, Corydalis, and Lotus Flower. The last I got (pictured right) contains UVA Ursi, Cali Poppy, Catnip. Blue Cornflower, Wild Sagebrush, and Frankincense.
In stores, they are called “Flower Smokes” and I have been noticing them become more prevalent at smoke shops, hippie shops, and herbal shops I come across.

Egyptian Blue Lotus induces a euphoric feeling. It also has sedative properties making you feel calm and relaxed.
Lavender
One of the most common herbs to smoke, lavender promotes relaxation and is known for its stress-relieving properties. It also is a common filler in hippie joints, as it gives the blend a sweet flavor.
UVA Ursi
Used in the sacred peace pipe at Native American ceremonies, UVA Ursi has mild relaxing effects and gives the blend an earthy taste.
Calea
Calea has mild sedative and lucid dreaming properties. It was used in Mexico for ancient divination processes.

Effects of Herb and Flower Smoking
I smoked one of my hippie joints at night and felt a very calming and relaxed sensation. I just bundled up in my blankets and read a nice book. It was as if weight had been lifted off my shoulders and my body was on full melt-into-my-blankets mode.
Along with that, mentally I felt very at peace. I didn’t see the need to stress out and worry about everything like I sometimes do. I was perfectly content just sitting there. It was very nice to have a relaxed feeling after a day of exercise and high stress.
I highly recommend giving it a try sometime, as it is completely natural and won’t do anything but benefit you. It is also a good thing to do if you are a cigarette-smoker and just need something to puff on. (The store I was at actually sold a blend that was meant for cigarette smokers!)
